About CAT5e Cables
CAT5e cables have been around for over 15 years and were originally used as cabling infrastructure for 10BASE-T networks. CAT5e cables provide a bandwidth of 350MHz at around 1Gbps and can transmit data reliably for around 100 metres. CAT5e cables consist of un-shielded twisted pairs (UTP) with a blue nylon jacket and RJ45 connectors. The un-shielded twisted cable pair can pose issues where the cables can be hindered by signal loss/noise and signal bleeding.
